On page 683 (kindle version) when Sloane is siphoning from Dain it says "She stares at the gray handprint that scars his forearm and she says... "I don't want to do that. Become that." What is that about? What is that gray handprint from on Dain's forearm? I feel like I have forgotten about something.

The gray handprint is from venin. She’s afraid to turn venin due to the nature of her signet.
