Goodreads asked Gregory B. Sadler:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Gregory B. Sadler Actually, I'm going to switch this up and talk about one of my favorite types of "writing", which I enjoy precisely because it's different from the other types -- translation (mostly from French and Latin)

In translating, the pressure is off to work out something of my own to say -- something I enjoy, but which can be quite exhausting.

What I really enjoy about translation is that my task is simply to take someone else's thoughts and words and determine how best to articulate them for an English-language readership. While I'm doing that, I get to "hang out" with them as long as I'd like, listening and thinking about their ideas, taking a break from my own
