It's about different relationships women form throughout their lives, and the sexual awakening that people go through as teenagers is not a topic that is shied away from. It can be explicit, but not graphic. For example, both proper words and euphemisms are used throughout the novel, but the sex scenes are not anything like you would see in a Harlequin Romance type of book. (less)
