How do you come up with your ideas about the type books you write? What seems to inspire you the most when you are writing a book?

Rita Stradling Thank you for asking. What inspires the books I write? Hmmm, well, a couple things that I can think of off the top of my head.
I often have very vivid dreams and nightmares, and they usually kick start my projects. I wake up from a dream and whether it's good or bad, I have a hard time leaving it. So I'll try to recreate it on paper and keep going from there.
I also enjoy writing about exotic or foreign locations, so I'll use my experiences traveling or living in those locations to inspire the day to day smells, sights and situations in the books.
