Goodreads asked Eileen Putman:

What are you currently working on?

Eileen Putman Rewriting "Reforming Harriet." When I reread it last year, I didn't like it at all. Why were my hero and heroine always angry? Why was the hero so thoroughly unlikeable? The answer was that I mistook anger for passion and, as any decent romance writer knows, they are not the same.

Turns out I didn’t know these characters very well. It turns out they are not angry at each other all the time. The hero has a beguiling combination of strength and vulnerability, which I had missed the first time. So I did a complete rewrite. Now the characters have dimension and depth.
