What inspired you to create Maisie Dobbs? Was she modeled after anyone or is she just a version of our better selves, that we all aspire to be?

Jacqueline Winspear Thank you for your question, Lisa. Go along to the following link - it has a full and complete answer to your question. I should add that Maisie was never modeled on a specific person, and I don't think she necessarily always represents a better self - she does not always make the best decision, and she does not hide from her vulnerabilities, though she tries to overcome them.

I am so glad that you are continuing the Maisie Dobbs series of books......I know there was a pause a few years ago......but I am continuing to enjoy her stories. Do you have more plans for Maisie in the future? Is this decision dictated by the stories that you want to tell or is it driven by a publisher's contract with you or a combination?
