Brent Forkner
Brent Forkner asked T. Coraghessan Boyle:

How do you research a book about a schizophrenic shooter? Do you read about it? Do you interview perpetrators, and how would you find them?

T. Coraghessan Boyle As I said to one of the readers above, I had two close friends who became schizophrenic in their teens/early twenties. As for Adam, he is inspired by a real shooter in Ft. Bragg, CA. I had many news article about him, as well as a 50-page police report, which gave me many of the details, which are authentic to the case.
