Absolutely not. If the entire book led up to one thing, that was it. Jake returning to Texas just to dance with Sadie one last time.

Did not like the ending at all. Jake had already gone back to prevent the young girl from getting shot and prevent the violent drunk from killing his family, so he knew that small changes were likely safe to make. No reason he couldn't have gone back, met Sadie again, and prevented her ex husband from attacking her....but he didn't.

I did. It was very disappointing. I had to speed read and skip through all the romance crap. That just was ...ugh..nauseating. I don't read romance novels and it started to take on that flavor. That said, Stephen is a favorite so I'll forgive the error of his ways.
