Goodreads asked Lilly Christine:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lilly Christine For "Loving Lulu", I wanted to explore Daisy's friend Luanne's story. Daisy bumps into Luanne and her baby and son in the grocery store parking lot in "Crazy On Daisy", and I started to become fascinated by this young woman who had chosen a marriage and so much responsibility at a young age. I was a young mom myself, so I understood the tension Luanne might feel between giving herself to her husband and children without ever really learning about herself. It was understandable that the pressures in this marriage: youth, money, family demands, would cause tension. So I fell in love with the premise of the story. What I didn't expect was that I'd also fall in love with Janie and Kyle. Giving Luanne a brother who was recently back from Afghanistan, and creating an attraction between a hurting Kyle and Janie, who appears so perfectly "normal" also fascinated me. It wasn't until I had written a few scenes between Kyle and Janie that I realized what Janie's internal conflict might be.
