Mark Lawrence Since I continually see one person's perception diametrically opposed to the next person's, I place very little stock in any given example.

Writers often get better with time, and they often get worse, or change their style which can be taken as either improvement or deterioration depending on a particular reader's tastes.

I'm not aware of any tricks learned. That's not to say they're aren't any. A writer is no more reliable when it comes to analysing their own performance than any reader is.

I am, of course, glad that you're one of those who think I'm getting better. It's surely a happier state of affairs than having you think I'm getting worse. Then again it's not hard to find readers who feel that Prince of Thorns was my best book.

Hi Mark, I, like everyone in this reality and all others, really like Macon. Have you ever considered continuing his story after then end of Emperor? I would love to go on an adventure with him in a series or even a stand alone book.

Hey Mark, Loving the Broken Empire trilogy so far! I'm 1.5 books in. I just want to say, most of the lower reviews I have seen are from people who seem to expect that your book should have come with a content warning, I think that's ridiculous! Sure there may be some mention of rape here and there, and a little torture when needed, but all scenes very obviously serve the narrative. Especially in this series. ?
