Goodreads asked Lydia Sherrer:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Lydia Sherrer One of two ways, depending on what's really going on. First is when I just don't want to write, either because I feel lazy, or I want to do something else, or I'm distracted. That sort of writer's block you just have to park that butt in the chair and write whether you like it or not, even if it's terrible writing.

If I actually don't know what to write, or just can't figure out how to say what I need to say, I'll take a break and do something else for a bit. Either take a walk to get the creative juices flowing, or perhaps do research online on the book topic, to better equip me to make the words flow. If I'm really just sick of writing, doing something completely different like playing a game or watching a movie can relax and refresh my mind so that the words flow easily the next time I sit down at my desk. Sometimes you just get burnt out writing, and your brain needs a break. So give it one!
