Love the Elemental Assassin series. Think it is impressive. How you tie together current events. With previously unknown or revealed things. From the characters past. Just curious. Do you have a timeline of events plotted or do some of the ideas just crop up. In the middle of writing something else? Hope that makes sense.

Some of the events I have plotted out (like the twist at the end of BITTER BITE), and some of the events just come to me as I am writing. So it's a mix of both.

I recently started re-reading the entire Elemental Assassins series from the beginning (including short stories) in anticipation for book #14 coming out in February. I was wondering how you came to write the short stories and novellas? Were they just ideas as you were writing the main books to get a history right in your head or did you write them after the fact to fill in gaps in a character's story? Thanks!
