Hi, I realize you asked this question a while ago but in case you're still wondering,

The main theme for"Hattie ever after" is a young women, who's struck out at farming tries her hand at her next big dream. Becoming a reporter in San Francisco in the early 1900's along they way figuring out how unfair the world can be but also where she's meant to be.
This is a really good historical fiction, light on the romance and full of determination and grit as Hattie struggles as one of the only female reporters at the paper and the men not taking her work seriously. Also a fun look at 1910's San Francisco.

Hope this helped🙂
