Don't give up and don't take rejection to heart. I got rejected a lot when I first started but don't let it get you down. Take it as a learning opportunity. Learn about the genre you want to be published in. Go through Publisher's Weekly at your local library. Learn the business and, most important, learn the craft. It's rewarding to know you created something and people want to read it.
