Its a non-fiction book about the evolution of football. It has two story lines: One is the changes that happen to football in the course of time. Lewis examines individual coaches and players that shape the game over time. The second story line is the story of Michael Oher and how his destiny was shaped in turn by the evolution of football. Its interconnected. Because the game had changed, the NFL required players that were built and gifted like Oher. 20 years earlier, he wouldn't have made a football career. But in 2005, he was wanted for this ability, aptitude and physique.
