It has a some sword fighting and fantasy/magical fighting. A few minor characters die. I would say 12+ only because it might be too long and detailed to hold interest for younger riders. But it would probably be a great book to read out loud to even pretty young ones! Later on in the series some of the books get somewhat more violent, romantic, etc. (less)

Maddie G The attempted rape scene is descriptive and the whole thing is handled with a very Game of Thrones "gritty fantasy" vibe. Probably not ideal for young ...more
