The darkness I feel …moreI would say because the murders are different and the story flips back and fore, so the tension builds until the final unveiling. The darkness I feel stems from the police investigation and the team's personal life, and the impact this has for the murderer. As snippets of the murderer's motives' are told the reader has to keep reading, willing Thorne to be right. No one is pure and straightforward, everyone has their vices which muddy the investigation but which makes them more human but allows the reader to have a certain empathy with everyone including the murder!(less)
