Goodreads asked Luna David:

How do you get inspired to write?

Luna David Well, I find that I have ideas at really horrible times. When I'm sleeping, I'll literally wake up with an idea, go into my closet with my phone, and speech to text that idea into my phone, until it's out of my head. Otherwise there will be no sleep for me. Or when I'm driving, or when I'm taking care of my little monsters (pre-school aged twins) and it's not my time to write. So sometimes inspiration comes from those ideas and if I don't get them down, they are lost (I'd like to blame that on mommy-brain, but sadly I probably can't). So later I'll sit down and compile those notes and put them where they need to go in terms of which book the ideas were for, and go from there. It's usually those ideas that then start to form scenes in my head that I then have to put down on paper. I'm a pantser, so ideas come and I have to get them down and come back around to them later. So the inspiration to write comes from the ideas that always seem to come at inconvenient times. ;)
