Columbine really helped me to understand the story behind that tragedy, including the mentality of Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. I think of it whenever I, unfortunately, hear of another similar tragedy. Do you feel like that analysis remains true for many of the similar shootings that we hear about, or have the intervening years changed your opinion?

Dave Cullen Thanks. Well Eric was always an outlier. These are rarely psychopaths, though Dylan's progression as a deep depressive is actually the most common profile. Unfortunately, Dylan's model, if you call it that, still holds.

Hey Dave, Wondering what your opinion is on Sandy Hook being a hoax? I've put in roughly 40 hours of research and you might think I'm a big dumdum but I think it's a VERY hard story to believe.
