Doris Lee asked Grace Burrowes:

I'm very confused as to your chronologically listing Axel ahead of The Soldier on your website, seeing as Axel had mentioned St. Just having been given the earldom. Surely that establishes the events of The Soldier to have preceded those of Axel, right?

Grace Burrowes Doris, I can absolutely understand the confusion, and I knew this would happen when The Heir became my debut book, and with The Soldier and The Virtuoso, my debut trilogy. That was, as noted elsewhere, starting in the middle, and I've been fielding questions like yours ever since. The listing on the website tries to strike a balance between laying the books end to end, which is impossible (when some overlap and over-arch), and keeping trilogies together, which is possible. Thomas/Matthew/Axel picks up immediately after where David leaves off, while Heir/Soldier/Virtuoso, happening in the same general time frame, doesn't follow immediately after David's book. Thomas/Matthew/Axel thus got placed ahead of Heir/Soldier/Virtuoso. I do apologize for the confusion.
