asked:
Why is Christopher such unrealistic? I give this book 2 out of 5 stars. I am reading this book for school and I do not love this crazy book.

He's not at all unrealistic, you just aren't understanding why he is how he is. Hopefully you wouldn't be so cruel to condemn someone suffering from autism as 'stupid' if you meet them in real life.
Lea Shvarts
Honestly, I'm not autistic but I can relate to this book a lot just with all the family issues and my mindset being similar to Christopher's.

There are so many kinds of people on the autism spectrum. Christopher is not at all unrealistic. Many times while reading this book, I was reminded of my son or other kids with autism who I have worked with.

autism is a spectrum,
everyone on it experiences it so differently.
Some are like Christopher, others are very different,
but everyone is special!

So, I know I'm a bit late on my answer, but I totally get it. I was kind of angered at first because I work a lot with kids who are on the spectrum, and Christopher is not a great representative of the spectrum because he is more of a savant-type autistic. However, he is a realistic character to some extent, and he does have several characteristics that are quite common for autistic children.
