Caelli
Caelli asked Kimberly McCreight:

As a mother yourself, what was the hardest part of writing Reconstructing Amelia, which is essentially about a mother's worst nightmare?

Kimberly McCreight Hi Caelli, Thanks so much for your question. I was drawn to writing about what happens to Amelia (with respect to bullying) precisely because of my fears for my own daughters as they get older. In that respect, I don't know that it was harder to write about than it was to already be worried about. That said, I have found when I go to read portions of the book out loud at events they are even more sad to me now that I am no longer "in" Kate's head. Hope you have a great summer. All the best, Kim
