By profession I am a tree surgeon, but I have always loved reading, writing and being inventive. With the worldwide economic recession I am short of tree work so I have time to concentrate on my writing.
The best thing for me is being an independent publisher as well. I can write a book, prepare the cover, publish on Kindle and sell around the world. If e-books did not exist I would still be waiting for publishers to get back to me.

Dear Clare, I'm researching Blyton's 1930s/40s works as part of a comparison of the treatment of 'blackness' in French & British children's lit. I saw your review of 'A Story Party at GH' (1949 edn.) Could I trouble you to kindly look up the pagination of 'A Little Black Doll'? And btw, did you know that an even less PC version appeared in 1937 before pub. in the 1944 'Jolly Story Book'?
