Doris Lee asked Grace Burrowes:

Continuing my previous question, I'm just wondering why you linked Ethan, Nick and Beckman to more of the other characters in your works within only 3 degrees of separation than you did with all 10 Windham siblings? I include the men of business as part of their employer's family (Brenner as Gareth's and thus the Alexanders, and Thomas as David's and hence the Worthingtons), thus the 3 degrees of separation.

Grace Burrowes Because that's how the stories turned out. There is no rule that says which characters have wide circles and which have narrow circles. Noah is a Duke, and yet his story remains largely unconnected to the others (so far). It's also the case that the Windhams have EACH OTHER, and are very much involved in one another's stories. Nick, Ethan and Beckman did more to leave the family circle and avoid each other, and Nick in particular is a highly social man, who like Beck, cut across social classes in his travels. To make Westhaven do that would be quite a stretch.
