Wordy Nerd asked Sarah Robinson:

When writing a novel, story, or anything romance or about love how should one approach writing it? How should one approach building up intimacy or more specifically emotional intimacy? What's your advice on writing romance or about love or any sort of relationship?

Sarah Robinson I wouldn't focus on the "writing romance" part of it. I would advise doing what I do- focus on writing in-depth, strong, and beautiful characters with personality traits that complement and contrast the other. Give them a goal to reach and a struggle to get through, then help each other achieve that. If the reader can fall in love with a character itself, they'll root for them to find happiness and love no matter what else happens. Romance isn't written, it's felt.
