The Star Wars Trilogy:
Why is R2D2 spelled "Artoo-Detoo" and C3PO spelled "See-Threepio"?? Am I the only one who thinks this is odd?

I think it had to do with author choice given that they were only done so in two of the books. Also I found it a bit odd as well.
