The character Whitney was inspired by my seventeen year old daughter. I always call her a rebel without a cause, and she's ALWAYS causing havoc somewhere, hahaha. I've written many characters (in books to be released this year) but Whit has been a true blast. I adore her stubbornness.
My other inspiration for Blue Waters is Human Trafficking. I wish to bring awareness to young people about sexual slavery. Because this series is YA, I don't delve into the subject with overwhelming details but show the lasting pain when caught up in this horrific crime.
In the second novella, Black Waters, there is a surprise introduction of another character from The Forever Series. Girls/women will LOVE him!
