Everyone else is asking about Code Name Verity or Rose Under Fire... I think Telemakos is feeling left out so I'm going to ask about him. How is he doing and when will his next book be released? :P

OH HOW I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU AN ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION!!!
The answer to "Why" it's not released is "Marketing." The answer to "When" is "Unknown."
As you probably know, SIX YEARS AGO I finished a book about Telemakos - in Britain, in love - called The Sword Dance. Because the previous books in the series had such low sales numbers, and because this is the final book in a series - therefore not a "standalone" as such (though I think it *can* stand on its own), no publisher wants to risk taking it on. Understandably, my current publishers do not want to skew my present sales records with a risky title. So - this book remains in limbo.
Believe me, nobody wants it out in the world as much as I do, and I have not forgotten about it. Self-publishing is not as obvious an answer as it might seem, since the sensibilities of my own competing titles need to be taken into account.
Thank you so much for championing this book and this series - I long for the day when I'm able to give you more Telemakos! <3

Elizabeth Wein:
The story goes from 1938-1943, with the primary action in late 1943. So that's over five years, and Maddie and Julie have to be over 20 by the end of the story. They were enlisted when they met, they'd have needed to be 18, the military wouldn't have wanted to take charge of under-age girls, they didn't boys. So why is this YA? The content isn't especially YA (not that it's R) and the characters are in their 20s.
