Goodreads asked Oliver Tooley:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Oliver Tooley My kids bought little tiny dragons in a cheesy gift shop.
One each; blue for the eldest, red the next, and green the youngest.
It was suggested perhaps I could make up a story about them involving dragons. (you know, like A. A.Milne or Tolkien made up stories for their kids, right?)
Only problem is, my story was RUBBISH.
So eventually it evolved into something much less contrived, although my kids all survived as the main heroes of the story.
Their father is very brave and wise, so any similarity with real persons, either living or dead, is purely coincidental.
That story is now "Children of the Wise Oak" which I am crowdfunding on Inkshares.
