You seem like the coolest author I know! How do you mange to write and be so socially active?
David Estes
*blushes* Geez, IF ONLY I could live up to that title: Coolest Author. Ha! I could put that on the cover of all my books :) In truth, I'm a pretty big book nerd, which I'm most proud of.
But to answer your question, balancing my schedule is exceptionally difficult--it's really hard to keep up. It helps that I'm extremely OCD and that I LOVE interacting with readers through Goodreads (mostly in my fan group and other YA groups), as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
Basically I write for three hours every morning, say from 9-12. I stay OFFLINE during that time, which is crucial to maintaining a disciplined writing schedule. That's one of the main reasons I'm able to publish so many books in such a short time--my strict schedule. That leaves the rest of the day to interact with readers, work on revisions with my beta readers, wife, and agent, prepare my books for publication, plan marketing activities and promotions, etc.
I'm very busy pretty much all the time, 7 days a week, but it's a good kind of busy that I love, so it's all worth it!! Thanks for the question, Harshini!

Sorry for not responding sooner. I've been busy- life. So I read them out of order. Oops! I'll go back & read the Country Saga now to connect dots. Are you going to do a series of what happens AFTER the Dwellers series? I'd be very interested in reading them. I'd love to have some bookmarks from you. My address is 2509 Saint Martin Drive Suffolk, VA 23434 Thank you so much! Christina
