I have to push through it. We all have slump days where we'd rather lay in our pi's and watch tv, never moving from the couch. But, if I don't put words on the page, I won't finish the book. And let's face it, even though its a thrilling and fun job, I still have to do the work no matter what so it gets done. I can a bad day of writing. I can't fix a blank page.

Eliza, I just finished listening to The Mayfair Bookshop and was delighted to discover that Nancy and her family were, in fact, real people. Like you, I've always loved to read. When I was growing up, my paternal grandmother worked in a bookshop that reminds me of the shop in your own story. Are the bookshop and Sophie real, too?
