I hope you don't mind me asking but I'm an aspiring writer wondering what other writers do. I sent out several copies of my manuscript and have gotten them back. In some areas they recommended specific changes with exact sentences they recommend. In some of the examples, I really like their ideas to mine but feel like I would be stealing their ideas if I use them. What do you do in similar situations? Thank you!

Hi Norman,
Great question. As an editor and a writer, I can safely and honestly say that choosing to use their wording is not stealing. It's part of the process. But you are always free to say that your own wording resonates better/fits the story you want to tell more truthfully. As an editor, I usually suggested the change thinking that it might steer the writer in a direction, but not expecting the exact words to be used. As an author, if I agree with the direction, I put it in my own words. But remember, you are the one with the final say. I hope this helps!

Huntley

dear Miss Fitzpatrick, Is there any chance that you will write another book about Jase and Sam? I want to know more about them without other people lives interfere the focus. I want to know do they survive amongst all difficulties still lay ahead of them as described in The Boy Most Likely. I want to know Jase's mind, perhaps now in Jase's point of view?

Hi Huntley (again)! I recently reread MLND and had to ask another question. Have you ever written in Jase's POV? While reading I find that I'm dying to know what he's thinking/how he thinks. He's also the perfect book boyfriend and his POV would probably be awesome ;) Thanks for your answers!
