This book contains spoilers for the original trilogy and also Bands of Mourning. As of this post, you should read all the Mistborn books in the order they are published, not in the order that is described on Good Reads for the Mistborn series.

The author says after reading the original Mistborn trilogy at a minimum but recommends after you've read all 6 currently published (up to Bands of Mourning).

I think it's more enjoyable to read this one after reading all other Cosmere books first. Then the revelations in this book pack a bigger kick.

I recommend rereading it multiple times.
Right after Mistborn 1st era is a good start. Much of the detail of what is going on will be totally lost upon you, but that's actually perfect--Kelsier is just as confused. You can enjoy it as simply the story of Kelsier, and experince his "true" first-person perspective.
Then go back and reread after finishing the Stormlight Archive. You'll notice more stuff.
Then visit again after reading Elantris, and possible also Warbreaker. You'll discover more and more depth and significance in what Kelsier sees and does in the later portions of the novella.
