Goodreads asked J.T. Geissinger:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

J.T. Geissinger Trust your gut. Don't give up. Cut negative people out of your life, because they will stifle your creativity. And write. Every single day, make time to sit down and write. Even when you're not feeling inspired, write. You never know what's going to happen during a writing session, and what you think is worthless might turn into gold.

Also, if and when you get an agent and/or publishing contract, OBTAIN AN ATTORNEY. Publishing is a ruthless business, filled with people who don't have your best interests at heart. Protect yourself and make certain you have an attorney review any contract presented to you. And never be afraid to stand up for yourself.
