What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Aimie K. Runyan Stop aspiring, start writing. There are a million people peddling advice. Some of it is good, some of it isn't. A lot of it is contradictory. The only bit of it I've never been able to argue with is that in order to learn the craft of writing, you must write. A lot. Often. Daily if you can. Find the medium that works for you--laptop, notepad and fountain pen, iPhone, marble slab and chisel--what have you, and keep it with you always. Even if you can only work for 10 minutes some days, it's all forward momentum, which is absolutely key to success.
