Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Tashia Hart This book is based on my own coming-of-age tale. There are some fictional elements, but a lot of what happens to the main character Winnow happened to me either exactly like it is written, or in a similar way.

I wrote this book after a few attempts at writing sci-fi novels and finding I was having a hard time fleshing out the characters in a realistic way. I realized that I had a ton of unprocessed emotional trauma and wasn't able to dive deep into my characters. I wrote this book to heal.
