Goodreads asked P.S. Malcolm:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

P.S. Malcolm My advice? Basically, the entire Shia LaBeouf Motivational Video.

"Don't let your dreams be dreams."

As bizarre as that video is, it speaks levels of truth. The only way into the writing world is to wear an armor of determination and confidence, and to keep an open mind to those who mean well, and an ignorant mind to those who wish to see you fail.

Any story inside of you that you wish to write deserves to be heard. Writing is hard; it's hard, hard work that deserves recognition, and you have to fight for that recognition.

Five tips I have are:

1. Familiarize yourself with the publishing industry; the expectations of publishers, the options you have available to you etc.
2. Read all the time. You can only learn from what you indulge in.
3. No matter how crazy life gets, make time to write.
4. Don't give up, no matter how long it takes.
5. Use manners; feel free to talk to authors and editors and anyone who may have helped you or inspired you, but know the boundaries, and always be polite no matter what they have said to you. This is how you make successful connections.
