Hi Elizabeth I was just wondering if you were writing anything at the moment that might be published in the next two years? Just would love to read more of your work, as I have literally demolished everything u have written :D. Thanks from Abi

Hi, Abi!
Thanks so much for your question. You really know how to make a writer's day. :)
I'm actually on a bit of a novel sabbatical this year, as I am moving and getting married and a bunch of other things that seem to take up a lot of time. (Good gravy, mortgages are a lot of work.) I'm also in treatment for some anxiety and burnout issues, and that's taking up a lot of my creative focus. <>
I realized recently that I've been working nonstop since autumn of 2001, and I'm suffering from, well, some exhaustion and burnout issues. (It's embarrassing to talk about, but you know, nobody actually benefits when we don't talk about mental and emotional health issues, so here goes.)
I am working on a couple of shorter pieces, though--I'm hoping that if I take a little time for myself and give myself a little breathing room, I'll grown back a little bit. So I'm not making any public commitments about those.
Here's hoping, anyway!

Thank you! I have one more question. Edene's abduction reminded me of Borte's. But it is even more similar to Lyudmila's abduction in the poem Ruslan and Lyudmila. Edene's escape from Al Sepehr's stronghold is also somewhat similar to Lyudmila's failed escape from Chernomor's castle. I'm curious if you were inspired by this old poem, too?

It's obvious that many of the characters in Eternal Sky are based on historical prototypes. But which of Genghis Khan's grandchildren is Temur, who seems to be the main protagonist, based on? Perhaps Temur is based on one of Jochi's sons? After all, Jochi died six months before Genghis Khan (some historians even believe he was murdered) and Otgonbayar died much earlier than his brothers, too.
