How is Monroe's relationship with George Washington presented and analyzed by this author? I've not read this book but recently read two biographies of Washington (R.N. Smith, J Ellis, both excellent) that make it clear that Washington came to despise Monroe to a degree that made it difficult for Washington to keep his volcanic temper (well controlled) in check. How is this addressed by Mr Unger?
