I come up with ideas all the time. I jot down notes on my iPhone or in Word with plot, characters, or dialogue and eventually they make their way into a story. To set the mood when actually writing, I typically put on some ambient or trance music. Some of my favorites include Connect.Ohm, Distant System, and Juno Reactor.
