Can anyone tell me the age-appropriateness for this title? I had a student request it for a high school library, and while it is obviously a very powerful read, I am wondering if it may be too mature and/or beyond the scope of our target patronage.

I grew up in a very censored household, where if the mail even had the word 'sexy' on it, it would go in the trash, despite the 25% off coupon. Growing up like that is toxic and while these topics might make you feel uncomfortable, trust me, it is much more uncomfortable to stay uneducated. It would be better to have a disclaimer so no one opens the book with a different assumption of the contents in it, but definitely keep it in your library(less)
