Rebecca asked:

I usually listen to audio books of Sedaris's work because I love his readings, but I know that "Me Talk Pretty One Day" is one of the rare abridged ones. Can anyone tell me how much is cut out? And would anyone who's both read and listened to this recommend one over the other? Thanks!

Kyle These stories are in the book but left out of the audiobook:
"Genetic Engineering"
"You Can't Kill the Rooster"
"Big Boy"
"The Great Leap Forward"
"Smart Guy"
"The Late Show"

And these two very short pieces are in the audiobook but left out of the book:
"Poems About Dogs"
"A Million Bubbles"

Personally, I prefer reading the book. I liked the audiobook but am not a fan of the live recordings.
Torie Late response but, I too, like to listen to Sedaris read. I listened to the audio and then got an ebook from the library to read the missing stories. Luckily, he is so distinctive you can hear him in your head.
