My students just started reading Wish by Barbara O'Connor. They are so excited to begin each chapter and cannot put it down. Also, when I was in fifth grade my teacher read aloud The Boxcar Children. I was so engaged and enjoyed it so much!

I would try 101 ways to bug your parents, or 101 ways to bug your teacher. (sounds sketchy, i know, especially if you are a teacher or parent, but they are good books, I swear!)
