Goodreads asked Sean Kerr:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Sean Kerr Escapism. I run a small business in Cardiff with my business partner and it has been eleven years of hell staying afloat. Writing offers me an escape, I can create characters and place them into situations that are impossible and fantastic, and it is a thrill to see how they develop and watch as the story unfolds beneath your fingertips. Then there is the reaction to your work. To have publishers tell you that your book is fantastic, and to see words like "wow" in an editors email, well you can't get much better than that believe me. I have yet to find out what an audience thinks of my book, but to have industry professionals embrace you and help you, it is very empowering and very fulfilling.
