That's a really good question and tough too, ha! I would honestly say that "The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis would take the prize on my all time favorite. The escape I felt while reading that book at such a young age, not only fueled my love for reading books, but also helped inspire my writing as well!

You know what, Stacy, The Narnia books are MY all time favourite ones too, in regard to my childhood reading matter (as an adult, my favourite books now tend to be James Herbert's and Stephen King's). I especially loved the first one, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. As you said, these books offered such great escapism for young children, and I don't think these books will ever be bettered. Agree?
