I have always had issue with the Amish. I volunteer a huge chunk of my life to rescuing, rehabing, fostering and rehoming abused and neglected animals. Due to this I have had more than 1 run in with their care and treatment so their behavior in your book doesn't surprise me. Have your "parents" or the Amish group contacted you since the book came out?

I am glad to hear you work with a rescue. It is so sad to see helpless animals abused :(
I had a couple of people contact and say they were Amish and that my book was terrible. One person said he took it to my sister and she denied almost everything. I do not know of any Amish who have computers, except for New Order Amish, and they are not really Amish so I highly doubt these claims.
No my parents have not contacted me, and I hope the do not.

haven't finished reading yet ( almost) just want to say you are a strong brave young lady thank you for sharing your story my thoughts and prayers go out to you wishing you well in all you do hope you was able to stay in contact with your sister and your mother and stepfather got the help they so desperately needed ?
