Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Michael Botur The kernel of most stories is some real-life experience which generated enough feeling to be memorable. For example, labouring in a house that's being renovated, hosing down the concrete floor of a warehouse, attending a dissatisfying educational institute, watching people fighting in public.
You take the kernel, observe the dynamic of the character involved, then let those characters conduct the extreme of their behaviour - extreme violence, extreme lust, extreme self-destruction, extreme care and love.
