Goodreads asked Cara G. Warden:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Cara G. Warden First? Stop waiting for permission. If you’ve got a story in your head, write it. No one’s going to tap you on the shoulder and say, “Congrats, you’re officially a writer now.” You just start.

Second? Accept the chaos. Your first draft? A mess. Your plot? Might betray you. Your characters? Will take over. That’s normal. Just keep writing anyway.

Third? Publishing is weird. Some days you’ll feel like a genius, other days you’ll wonder why you started. Both are ok. Just remember: The only difference between an “aspiring” writer and a real one? One keeps going.

Now go write your book. 😉
