Rose asked Laurie Halse Anderson:

Hello, I am a senior in high school. I was given the assignment of writing a research paper on a book. The book I choose was Twisted. I liked how it was very relatable to me and teens from all over. Within the research paper, My teacher wants be to find the meaning and/or reason that you choose the title of the book, Twisted. I wanted to know why did you title the book Twisted?

Laurie Halse Anderson The answer is hidden in the story itself! There is a scene in which Tyler describes the world as he sees it and he calls it "Twisted."

With respect, please tell your teacher that my reasons for the title are not very important. What's truly important is what each reader takes away from the story.... did YOU find anything in the book that seemed twisted? What kinds of knots were tied? What title would you have given it?
