Kristan Higgins Thank you so much, Sho-Sho! Davey wasn't based on any one individual. But I used to volunteer with young adults with intellectual disabilities, and that helped. I also enlisted the advice of my friend, who's a psychologist, to make sure that I did Davey justice. The worst thing I could've done, in my opinion, would've been to make him a cookie-cutter character. I really appreciate what you said!

Kristan, I love how you are able to make your characters relatable to real life. I see a piece of myself in many of them. Another wonderful aspect of your books is that you are able to carry themes throughout all your books, for example –Ice Cream!
